Burgess is pleased to announce the successful auction of the Feadship ICE BEAR, in partnership with Boathouse Auctions.
Kicking off on 10 October at 16:00 EDT (21:00 BST), the 52m ICE BEAR was keenly watched by yachting afficionados and interested parties around the globe. The live auction had no set opening bid amount, and a total of nine registered bidders cast a total of 36 bids. All bidding was transparent, shown to those who signed on in real-time, and the winner of the auction was a US-based yachtsman.
Founder of Boathouse Auctions, Jack Mahoney, said, 'We’re thrilled that ICE BEAR was successfully auctioned to a proud new owner. We work with sellers and brokers on all size yachts, and this was one of the most exciting, as at one point nearly 100 people were watching the live auction bidding. Congratulations to Kevin Kramer and Burgess who put their trust in Boathouse Auctions to help achieve their goals of identifying market value on the sellers chosen timeline by auctioning this stunningly classic Feadship.'
The 52m (171ft) Feadship ICE BEAR launched in 1988, and is in excellent condition, having only been used as a private yacht with no charter history. She is one of the rarer superyachts that is also a sportfishing vessel and is equally prepared for fishing as she is luxurious. Accommodations are for 10 guests in five well-appointed staterooms, and she offers many options for dining, relaxing and entertainment both inside and out.
