Some of the best luxury yachts with pools
Published 26 七月 2023
There’s nothing like relaxing by the pool. Enjoy spending time with the ones you love on deck during a luxury yacht charter.
Those who have never chartered a yacht before would be forgiven for questioning the need for a pool on a yacht, after all, the endless ocean is just a step away. But the ability to take a cooling freshwater dip night or day, whether at anchor or underway, has become so alluring that many yachts choose to have at least one pool on board, if not more, in addition to a hot tub or jacuzzi. In fact, when yachts exceed 100m in length, few would be seen without one.
Why charter a yacht with a pool?
The ability to cool off at a moment’s notice without leaving the on board social dynamic places swimming pools high up on most charter guests’ wish list. Then there’s the spontaneity aspect that a superyacht pool brings, especially when on a long ocean passage and the request to drop anchor at a moment’s notice is not well received by anyone. For many, the ability to maintain a fitness schedule while away is a high-ranking requisite, which is why when length is limited, contra flow jets prove a welcome addition. On a family charter, pools are often the hub of the boat, with the children or grandchildren enjoying a splash multiple times a day, every day. And when the opportunity arises, a glass-bottom pool, waterfall, infinity edge or swim up bar make for incredible design features.
Yachts for charter: swimming pool highlights
The advantages of chartering a yacht with a pool are threefold, and the imaginative lengths that owners, designers and shipyards now go to – from rising pool floors to create a flush dancefloor to glass-encased pools that throw dappled light on the guests below – are enough to make the pools themselves a star of the charter show.
NORTH STAR
The exterior spaces aboard NORTH STAR are designed with guests’ outdoor enjoyment in mind, with spacious deck spaces offering both shade and sun and a stunning lower deck beach club. But it’s on the sun deck where most of the action takes place, with a large swimming pool with built-in seating and surrounded by sun beds for ultimate relaxation. The sun deck also includes a bar, making cocktails in or by the pool a must, with sunset views and a yawning horizon all around.
SILVER ANGEL
Offering the best of Made in Italy appeal, the Benetti-built SILVER ANGEL has one of the prettiest raised jacuzzis on water. A mosaiced floor, rounded oval shape and travertine marble surround draw the eye, while the glass balustrades gift uninterrupted views from an elevated position. When a workout is on the cards, the large jacuzzi features resistance jets making a morning swim a luxury worth waking up to.
Yachts for sale: owner’s deck highlights
Sometimes, the goods are so good, it’s hard to have to share, which is why an increasing number of superyachts feature a dedicated owner’s deck that rivals all other areas. From en suite master suites, lavish offices, beauty salons, treatment rooms and gyms, some owner’s decks even feature private pools and hot tubs creating a fully autonomous hideaway.
PROJECT 825
She may still be in build but when she is delivered in November 2024, the 75.8m (248.6ft) Feadship PROJECT 825 will enable her owners to take themselves away and just unwind for a while. A dedicated owner’s deck not only has a sumptuous owner’s suite with office, huge en suite and a walk-in wardrobe, it has access to a private terrace with jacuzzi. Walkaround sidedecks lead aft to private dining outside the owner’s lounge so the owners can have their own dinner parties. There’s a glass-bottomed pool on the main deck aft, above the beach club, and a jacuzzi outside the bridge deck gym so no-one misses out on the freshwater fun.
PHOENIX 2
The split-level owner’s suite on board PHOENIX 2 is one of luxury with an upper deck observation lounge and a main deck bdroom suite on the main deck with a private outdoor jacuzzi for when socialising just doesn’t appeal. Above, the sun deck features a 7m (23ft) oval pool with separate jacuzzi on the sun deck for a simple splash in the sun or a snooze in the shade on the sunpads. There's also a main deck ballroom and a 4m (13.1ft) deep swim platform with hydraulic bathing steps, for those quick morning dips in the sea or when going out on the array of watertoys.
