After graduating from a UK university, Julian, who was born and raised in Singapore, joined the family business building offshore vessels and oil rigs. Always a passionate yachtsman, Julian has been involved in several large yacht builds since 1998 and won boating awards in Europe, the US and Asia. He also led various initiatives to promote and develop yachting in Asia and is a founding member of the Superyacht Singapore Association. For the five years before joining Burgess, Julian was a director for Fraser Yachts (South East Asia) and also leads his own yacht brokerage company, Raffles Yacht Group, specialised in the brokerage and charter of yachts under 30m. Similarly passionate about ocean conservation, Julian is one of Asia’s pioneers in environmental initiatives, a board director of the International Seakeepers Society (USA) and president of the International Seakeepers Society Asia.

Julian lives in Singapore with his wife Sandra and family and enjoys scuba diving, fishing, chess, motorbiking, bird-watching and karaoke.
