Frederica joined the Charter Management department at Burgess’ London office in 2011, before relocating to the Monaco office in 2014 where she is now based. In 2022 she became the Global Charter Fleet Manager.

During her four years at University of Glasgow she was heavily involved in the sailing club, racing and hosting events such as the British University Sailing Championships. She went on to work in the European Parliament in Brussels, before setting sail in the Mediterranean working on board a 1912 classic sailing yacht, THE LADY ANNE.

Four months after joining Burgess, Freddie took on the charter management of her first yacht, a small sailing boat, after which her portfolio of charter managed boats steadily grew. During that time, she oversaw work on Burgess’ entire charter central agency agreements, updating the contractual and financial elements, and also designed a new charter management proposal. ‘We were quite forward thinking within the rest of the company, and set the bar high,’ she says.

Freddie’s record lists Burgess’ longest charter at three months and largest value charter at EUR 11 million. Yet, her day-to-day role focuses on new business, team management, risk mitigation and consolidating Burgess’ in-house processes to create a streamlined and efficient system for charter clients and yacht owners. Adept at multitasking and an active volunteer on multiple Burgess task forces, Freddie’s strength lies in her efficient and hands-on approach.

‘We place our clients’ experience front and centre of all that we do to ensure we provide owners and captains with the support and service that they need for their charter management ventures,’ she says.

Making lasting connections with owners and captains has always been something she has greatly enjoyed. In recent years, it’s her growing team and achieving results through interdepartmental networking that has become a real source of pride, driven by her active participation in Burgess’ environmental, social and governance (ESG) framework.

‘The feedback that I receive from owners on the professionalism and productivity of the team is the best praise we can receive and the reason we do what we do,’ she says. ‘Ensuring our Burgess employees feel supported is hugely important likewise ensuring that Burgess is a forward-thinking company, is something I carry forward in my everyday work. As a company, we care.’
