Description
GALMA is a 28.6m (93.8ft) Bermudan sloop from the revered Wally 94 class. Built in carbon fibre, she was delivered by the storied Italian shipyard Wally Yachts in 2003. Her RINA classified hull was designed and structurally engineered by Germán Frers' studio, Frers Naval Architecture, and interior and exterior design by Wally legend Luca Bassani. She was refitted in 2008 and has been meticulously maintained and upgraded since.
Frers' design brief was to combine regatta winning performance when fully crewed, offering her owner a superb experience at the wheel, with the shorthanded cruising credentials required to be both comfortable and easily handled when exploring coasts or crossing oceans. She bears all the hallmarks of performance cruising pedigree for which Frers has become internationally renowned.
GALMA has been fitted out and maintained unstintingly. Mast and both racing and cruising booms are by Southern Spars and were repainted in winter 2016-17, along with the hull and superstructure. Her ECsix continuous carbon rigging was replaced in winter 2013-14, and spars and standing rigging were all checked and serviced in winter 2018-19. All her electronics were replaced in winter 2017-18 including full B&G navigation systems. She has full North Sails wardrobes for racing and cruising, ranging between 2013 and 2016.
She has a variety of open-air spaces. The large foredeck offers a range of potential relaxation and entertainment options at anchor. Wide sidedecks lead aft to the spacious cockpit lounge, shaded by a removable awning, with seating for all guests and a table for cocktails or dining. Aft of those are two further deck terraces suitable for sun lounging and a section of transom folds down to create a swim platform.
Forward from the cockpit lounge, a companionway leads down into a light, contemporarily styled interior. To port is a dining table and there is a large settee and coffee table to starboard, aft of which is a nav station. Forward are two double cabins, en suite and each with a deck hatch and a pullman berth, and aft is a full beam owner's twin cabin, en suite with two deck hatches, two hull ports and windows looking out over the aft deck.
GALMA is in turnkey condition with state of the art upgrades and ready to go racing and cruising with equal enthusiasm for both.
