Description

Originally built and designed in 1993 by US shipyard Christensen and Creative Marine, SWEET ESCAPE had a comprehensive refit in 2022. Now she represents the best of both worlds, with the gracious lines and generous deck space of a classic motor yacht and all the modern comforts. At 39.6m (130ft) with twin 1,650hp caterpillar engines, this yacht will cruise at 13 knots, with a top speed of 19 knots.

Ghandi takes credit for the redesigned interior. Guests step into the main saloon and immediately the lively Art Deco décor invites them to relax in the lounge area, choose a bottle from the glass wine cellar, take a seat at the formal dining table, or head out onto the aft deck where an open air dining area awaits – there are three on board, the third is on the bridge deck above.

The bridge deck has expansive outside spaces with sunloungers, al fresco dining table and rear seating area. Inside is a sky lounge and full sized bar, just behind the bridge. This is the party deck, designed to take in the views and a few sundowners. There’s also a private little spot on the Portuguese bridge for an intimate tete a tete. The sun deck tops off the yacht - up here is the jacuzzi, ample sunpads and a bright bimini sun awning.

Pattern and colour are themes that continue into the guest cabins. The owner’s suite is situated in the forward part of the main deck. Here a simple palette of blue and grey complement the glossy wood finishes. Natural light fills the cabin from large windows on either side.

Four further guest suites accommodate eight guests in cabins on the lower deck. A chrome spiral staircase connects lower to upper decks and sets the tone with decorated walls and art in each lobby. On the lower deck a VIP guest suite spans the full 8.1m (26.6ft) beam of the yacht, with two en suites.

There are another two twin guest cabins and a double cabin, all en suite. Each cabin is characterful with designer wallpapers and fabrics. Crews quarters are on the lower deck, except for the captain’s cabin by the bridge.

At anchor the toys come out to play. SeaBobs take guests scooting underwater, an inflatable slide can be set up from the sun deck to the sea, and Sea-Doo with flyboard and jetskis keep the adrenalin junkies entertained. SWEET ESCAPE lives up to her name.
