Brought up to date in a full refit three years ago, LE PONANT’s vast tri-deck interior is designed to host up to 32 guests in 16 large double cabins, with service from a crew of 34. Her interior style is contemporary – restrained, tasteful, clean and bright. All cabins have a private en suite bathroom. Those on the upper decks have their own outside terraces and floor-to-ceiling windows as well as lounge areas and desks.
The inside guest facilities include a spacious, comfortable lounge with a full cocktail bar and a gourmet restaurant – each of these have their own open-air terraces on the upper and main aft decks. There’s a dedicated gym with state-of-the-art equipment, plus a fitness instructor and yoga sessions are held on the sundeck. The onboard wellness centre has a full-time professional therapist offering a variety of massages and treatments.
One of her strongest suits is the huge expanse of outside deck space on board. This includes a sundeck that safely puts you right at the heart of the sailing action when she’s cruising from one destination to the next, with seats, loungers and a bar, plus additional space on the foredeck and, as mentioned above, the two shaded and sheltered aft decks.
She also has a superyacht-style stern with an expansive bathing platform that’s ideal for boarding her four expedition-grade RIB tenders, launching her kayaks, paddleboards and windsurfers, or simply diving in for a swim. She carries a fleet of underwater sea scooters and scuba diving gear for underwater exploration, and a sea pool is deployed from her stern for safe, jellyfish-free bathing when the anchor goes down in a secluded, sheltered bay.
