Landmark in the build of MARTINIQUE

Published 15 November 2019

The construction of the 36.3m (119.1ft) MARTINIQUE took a significant step forward today when hull and superstructure were assembled at the ‘s-Hertogenbosch yard of Dutch shipyard Moonen Yachts. When she is delivered in time to attend the 2020 Cannes Yachting Festival, she will be the second in Moonen Yachts' 36m Caribbean range, following in the wake of award-winning sistership BRIGADOON. Burgess is Central Agent for the sale of MARTINIQUE with an asking price of EUR 16,750,000.

'As a yacht in the 30-45m market with Northern European pedigree and a short delivery time, MARTINIQUE presents a very rare opportunity,' said lead broker Thibault Roi. 'She is now less than 12 months from delivery but there is still time for owner customisation to the Studio Indigo interiors. Prospective buyers will know that opportunities like this are few and far between.'

For a 36m yacht she has a huge amount of adaptable deck space. This includes a sun deck with lounge and bar shaded by a hard-top bimini, an expansive bridge deck aft that sweeps into the sky lounge through full-height folding doors and a Portuguese bridge forward. A lounge area on the main deck aft presents yet another option for al fresco living and the space flows into a main saloon and dining area that dazzles with light through huge picture windows.

She will welcome 12 guests in five versatile cabins: a full-beam owner's cabin on the main deck featuring wraparound windows, plus two double cabins and two twin cabins on the lower deck. Seven crew are also accommodated.

Her steel hull and aluminium superstructure, delivering a volume of 337 GT, are Lloyd's classed and MCA compliant and shallow draft of just 2.2m (7.2ft) opens up a range of peaceful anchorages, lagoons and cays out of bounds to other yachts.

Twin Caterpillar 1,900hp diesel engines give her a top speed of 16.5kn, she'll cruise at 14.5kn and at 10kn she has a transatlantic range of 4,000nm. Dynamic and zero speed stabilisation, paired with Moonen Yachts' legendary reputation for seaworthiness, ensures comfort underway and at anchor and the particular attention paid by her naval architects to reducing noise and vibration has proved a great success.
