Abu Dhabi Grand Prix yacht charter with Burgess
Published 01 November 2024
Watch F1 from the comfort of your aft deck with an Abu Dhabi Grand Prix yacht charter. The Abu Dhabi GP is not only the last race of the season, therefore serving up a healthy portion of closing parties, but it’s also one of only three day-night championship Grand Prix races on the F1 calendar. Action takes place under the floodlit gaze of the Yas Marina Circuit, as drivers jostle for poll position and international DJs spin the decks into the night.
When is the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix?
Each year, an unmissable 58 laps of high-speed action take place in the state-of-the-art city in November. The 2024 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is set to take place on Yas Island - just a 30-minute drive from the city and a 15-minute drive from Abu Dhabi International Airport - on Sunday 8 December.
Can I watch the F1 from my charter yacht?
Abu Dhabi’s man-made Yas Island provides a spectacular backdrop for the only Grand Prix race in the United Arab Emirates. It gives yachts unrivalled access to trackside action, making it one of only two F1 races that can be enjoyed from a yacht with unrivalled vantage points of the tightest turns. Yachts measuring 90m and less can access the trackside waterway and fight over the best berths.
For larger yachts measuring up to 175m, there are six berths available outside of the marina – numbered V01, V05, V10, V15, V20 and V26. Due to their limited availability, early reservation is highly recommended for those planning on making an entrance aboard a 100m+ yacht.
Track view vs non-track view anchorages
The 5.281km Yas Marina plays host to 190mph speeds and deafening roars as the aroma of burnt rubber and the signature F1 whine pierces the air. The modern facility provides a good selection of berths for visiting yachts, with the track view berths the most coveted of all. A total of 227 fully serviced wet berths accommodate superyachts from 8m to 90m, while an additional 93 dry berths for boats on trailers from 7m to 12m allow guests to soak up the buzzing atmosphere, watch the live race on large screens and be well placed for all the pit-lane action.
Post-race entertainment
While the focus is undoubtedly the racing cars and drivers themselves, the level of entertainment on offer all week is not to be missed. From animated light shows at MAD on Yas Island, the largest indoor nightclub in the Emirates, to international DJs spinning decks and crowds into a frenzy at the Amber Lounge the choice is endless. There are even live acts that play into the early hours, attended by celebrities, socialites and partygoers galore.
Join one of the many superyacht parties or host your own
The line-up of incredible, head-turning superyachts at any Grand Prix makes for an enviable sight, but when the tunes are pumping, the drinks are flowing and revellers dance the night away on the sun deck, a yacht party is the place to be. There’s only one thing better than being invited to the most sought-after gig of the season, and that’s hosting the must-attend party yourself aboard a yacht of your choosing, with your VIP guestlist.

In a fitting ode to the Grand Prix circuit and annual event, Yas Island is also home Ferrari World Abu Dhabi, touted as one of the world’s leading theme parks for car enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
