The 29m (95.2ft) Solent-rigged sloop PATEA is a 90GT composite yacht built by Alia Yachts in 2012 and refitted in 2021. PATEA’s extraordinary sailing performance is thanks to her Southern Spars carbon rig and advanced sail-handling systems, including in-boom mainsail furling and an asymmetric masthead spinnaker. Powered by a single 435hp Volvo Penta diesel engine, she can achieve a top speed of 12 knots and an impressive range of 2,200nm cruising at 10 knots. Her 3.7m (12ft) draft fin keel balances performance and accessibility, allowing her to explore shallow anchorages. Her modern and sustainable design includes up-to-date machinery with hydraulic and DC motors, supplemented by solar panels on the coach roof.
