Description
The flybridge ketch SALVAJE features an aluminium hull and superstructure, built to Lloyd's classification and MCA compliance. Designed by the renowned British studio Dubois Naval Architects, she boasts breathtaking interiors by Reymond Langton Design and was delivered by the legendary New Zealand shipyard Alloy Yachts in 2014. A yacht of exceptional pedigree, SALVAJE was recognised when she was awarded the International Superyacht Society Award for the Best sail 40m+ category in 2014.
With a beam of 11m (36.1ft), SALVAJE offers a deceptively spacious internal volume of 499GT. Her unique centreboard design reduces her draft from 11m (36.1ft) to just 4m (13.1ft), giving her access to shallow anchorages off-limits to deeper-drafted yachts. Unique and luxurious features rarely found on other sailing yachts include a jacuzzi on the aft deck, a fold-down swim platform and a hydraulic side-boarding ladder located midships to starboard. Additionally, she boasts a winter garden, which can be enclosed with glass screens to create a climate-controlled space.
Every aspect of SALVAJE has been designed to offer a truly unforgettable experience, with her expansive deck spaces and thoughtful amenities providing the absolute pinnacle of comfort and luxury. The 60sqm (645.8sqft) flybridge is a prime example of this, offering twin helm stations, two inviting lounges and a vast sunpad for the ultimate relaxing space. She has been fitted out with the very best of everything. Her carbon fibre masts and in-boom furling are by Southern Spars, supported by Nitronic rod rigging with sails by North. Both rigs were serviced in January 2024 during her 10-year class survey when she was also refitted (an extensive list of works is available).
The main deck aft provides ample room for sunloungers and wide side decks lead forward to a huge, versatile area on the foredeck. The foredeck conceals two tenders beneath hatches - a 7m (23ft) custom Smuggler tender and a 5.4m (17.7ft) Smuggler Strat RIB. Beneath the flybridge overhang is a large guest cockpit with dining for 10, comfortable sofa seating port and starboard and a relaxed lounge area aft. This space can be closed off by glass panels for added comfort and privacy.
Inside her sinuous curves showcases Reymond Langton Design at their brilliant best. The main saloon has forward-facing U-shaped seating with sofas and armchairs facing a large TV mounted on a partial bulkhead, forward of which is the formal dining area. Aft in the main saloon a beautifully designed staircase leads down to a sensational guest lobby, off which are the full-beam owner's suite midships with en suite shower room, two double cabins and two twin cabins, one with an additional berth.
Under sail she shows the perfect blend of performance and comfort. Under power her single 1,450hp Caterpillar diesel engine gives her a top speed of 14 knots and a maximum range of 6,500nm at her cruising speed of 12 knots.
